Overclock your netbook (with Atom processor) to 2GHz

December 5th 2009 | Posted in Netbook News

Well it was only a matter of time until someone found an overclocking utility to speed up our trusty 1.6GHz atom processors. This time it was a couple of forum members over at MyHPMini who discovered that the OC Tuner could be hacked to allow it to operate with the Atom processor.

The end result? An HP Mini 311 running at 2.1GHz, not only the Atom processor but the Nvidia Ion GPU as well. This made a noticeable improvement in all things graphical as you can imagine including game performance.

If you want to try this yourself (warranty voiding of course) then check out the overclocking guides at myhpmini.
